Editing Gutted

Wednesday 11th March 2009.

Sat in an edit suite with an editor & director / producer this morning. We looked at footage & between the editor & the director / producer they decided on what voice over’s & pick ups they still needed to get.

Back ground.

Gutted is a programme where a family member contacts the show & nominates a loved one to de-clutter their house. The shows experts come in & de-clutter the house; all household items are placed into a removal van. If the contestant can remember what was in the house before the team came along, they are allowed the item back if they it. The rest of the items go off in the removal van to auction where they are sold. At the end of the show they can either take the money from items sold at the auction or they can have their possessions back..

Turn Around.

Commissioned for Uk style (part of the BBC conglomerate) Gutted has a 12 day turn around from commission to distribution. Today the team are currently at day 5 going through the footage looking for pick-ups & voice over’s they still need to get. Between now & day 9 they still need to 1/. Finess the script, 2/. Picture up, 3/. Cut the footage to time. Day 9 they intend to show it to TwoFour executive producers & by day 11 show the finished programme to the commissioning editor for final tweaks!

Budget.

Gutted is a small budget production of about £50,000 from this £50,000 the independent production company (Twofour) take their cut of about 25% leaving the actual production budget in the region £25,000 to make from concept to fruition.

  1. 1 x logo, 1 x link (same). Good desc although may be inaccurate, Most production 's profit is between *% & 10% of budget.
